Maps can tell you lots of things that a list of numbers obscures. At a glance you can see that Carmarthenshire has a lot of really quite empty schools (key on the left; menu on the right).
Or that most of Powys secondary schools are in financial difficulty.
You can look at a list of Pembrokeshire secondary schools and see that some are in the red support category—but a map will show you that those schools are all in the south of the county.
We've used maps wherever we can. They are visually rich but easy to understand. If you hover over a school's marker you will find out its name and possibly some other information. For example, maps of school populations show the % occupancy rate—that is the number of children in a school as a percentage of the school's capacity. Or on the school finance maps, you can find out how much money the school has in reserve, or what size of deficit the school has.
Please explore these maps and let us know what you think.
