The colour indicates what level of support a school needs - from Green (least support, up to 4 days a year) through Yellow (up to 10 days), Amber (up to 15 days) to Red (up to 25 days of support). 

The information used to categorise schools includes information on how a school is led and managed, the quality of learning and teaching, teacher assessments, attendance and examination results.

Primary Schools

Flintshire primary schools have improved since 2014, though 2019 saw a slight increase in support need. They now require just under 8 days support on average, against 11 days support in 2014. This is in line with the Welsh average.

Secondary Schools

Flintshire secondary schools require slightly less support than they did in 2014—just under 11 to just over 11 days on average—but the journey to that point has been erratic. They are in line with the Welsh average.
